Unique defenders (anyone but green) are stronger then normal handgun defenders (in green) and have their own unique set of advantage.

Unique defenders also refund 1 to 2 coins depending on the rarity of the defender.

Lucky platforms are spawned at the beginning of each wave, they further increase your chances of spawning the unique defenders by a slight margin.
